Caissablanca v1 - What is this?
The beginning of the journey. Who are we? What is Caissablanca? Why should I care? Let's dive in!
What is this?
Welcome! If you're reading this, it means we have launched our beta version of Caissablanca! Over the past two weeks we've been hard at work getting everything set up and working, fighting tons of bugs, figuring out how to properly set up Stockfish, Clerk, etc. Finally, we are at a stable version of Caissablanca that's ready to show the public.
We built Caissablanca because as chess players, we wanted to build tools that we would use ourselves to help improve at chess. We've been using Caissablanca almost daily to help us analyze our chess.com daily and buillet games while building, which has actually helped us both improve our chess game but also the product. Wild how that works, right?
Why does Caissablanca even have a blog?
First, thank you for visiting and reading! We wanted to add a blog to build in public, and to help build trust that our product really is aimed at helping chess players improve. This blog will update users on new features, known bugs, our future plans, etc. We want transparency, and to provide you with a window into the team, the project, and the product.
What are we planning for in the future?
At the time of any launch it's important to montior how users use the product. Understanding what users use, what they don't use, and what keeps users returning to the application is critical for sustaining a user base. Hopefully, we can learn what our users want, and focus our development to improve the product. No product is perfect, and pretending like it is would be naive, so we'll continue to monitor usage, our competitors, and evolve!
Besides the regular jargon, more specifically, we hope to increase the value our AI implementation provides to our users. At launch, we've set conservative rates on the AI usage, and once we understand the costs associated to AI usage, we hope to improve and expand upon the chat feature.
"I have suggestions!"
Great! You can contact us at sebastian@soleinnovations.com, we really want to grow together. I know, cliche, but we want to build what our users want. Any feedback is welcome!
